Happyland

One day in Happyland, there was a cat. He was a boy. He was gray and white. He liked to roll around in the grass.

I hope you know it's always sunny in Happyland. Everything would be peaceful, but....

Evil Marta ruled the underworld, and every time it was a good day, Marta made it bad.

The only thing that could kill Marta was pancakes. But the people of Happyland were too scared to go up to the castle and give them to her.

In the year 1991, a baby was born. It was a girl. Her name was Anna. She was very brave.

So the townspeople asked her to go up to the castle.

Well, Anna was asked to go to the castle, so she did. All the people gave her weapons but she didn't want them.

The townspeople said "Then what's going to protect you?"

"My heart," said Anna, "but I will only go if I can bring one thing that is living."

"What are you going to bring?" said one girl.

"A cat," Anna answered, "but it will be a special cat, a cat that is only two colours, and those two colours will be gray and white."

The queen said "Everyone that owns a grey and white cat, get it and bring it to Anna, and she'll choose one and bring it on her quest."

They all brought their cats in and Anna chose one. Its name was PoPo.

But the girl who owned PoPo said "You can have him only if I can come with you."

Anna said "Okay, but be brave."

"I will" said the girl.

"Then we'll be going now."

They walked for over a mile but never gave up.

Finally they came to the evil Marta's castle. They had to be very quiet because they would wake the bats and the tigers that guarded the castle.

They made it past the bats and tigers. But they still had to find a way to get into the castle.

When they were trying to open the door to the castle, PoPo was playing with something, and the girl said, "PoPo, what are you playing with?"

She bent down and picked up what PoPo was playing with. It was a key! The girl told Anna she had found a key.

Anna tried to open the castle door with it. And the door opened. They crept inside because Marta was sleeping, because they could hear her snoring.

Then the girl asked, "Why did you have to come here?"

"Because, two reasons -- she sometimes terrorized the town, and she took the Queen's cat Frecher, that's why I came here."
